MUSICALITY
This christian contemporary track on D flat starts with liquid piano arpeggios as the intro, drawing its listeners into its amazing melody.

The lyrics to this song are quite sophisticated in the way they dissect simple truths and are poetic at the same time. I mean, she sings ‘You’re the truth that replaces every lie.’ She aptly utilises metaphor and imagery precisely.  In addition, the theatrics of the melody quite beautifully accompany the depth of the lyrics. There’s no word on who the producer is, but it sounds like Wilson Joel to me.

It is almost like every line climaxes in its own. Sopriye’s vocals are so fluid, delicious and easy to follow. She does have an extensive vocabulary of riffs and runs that are neither obtrusive nor overpowering in any way, but at the same time are very correct and authoritative. Everytime I think of her vocal dexterity, I think of the scripture ‘There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God; the holy place of the tabernacle of the most highest.’ Psalm 46:4

The conga does its beat in alignment with Sopriye’s Nigerianness at the bridge,  on the lines ‘ In you there’s no darkness at all o.’

MESSAGE

Healing is something I am very passionate about and lines ‘Sun of Righteousness, you are Emmanuel’, shed light on one of my favourite scriptures on the subject. The scripture Malachi 4:2, which says ‘But to you who fear My name, The Sun of Righteousness shall arise With healing in His wings; And you shall go out and grow fat like stall-fed calves.’ is a piece of scripture that I confess ever so often in laying hold of my inheritance of healing in Christ.

Restflix
Not only did Jesus take away sin when He died on the cross, He also took away sickness. He became sin so that we may be called the righteousness of God. He is the completion of the old testament and a complete fulfilment of everything we would ever need.

Do you believe in healing? Are you confessing those scriptures or are you waiting till you are in dire need of healing?
