I present ‘Capable God’ by Judikay
MUSICALITY
This piece starts on F sharp major with a digital arppegio and other sounds like the violin that suggest the song may take a pop ballady turn. But surprisingly, the chorous goes acoustic and soulful with an african touch on the drums.
Judikay’s lyrical style exhibits her exquisite Nigerianness in the line ‘It can never ever exist o’ and how she lists characters from the bible, making the song more colourful. Her harmonies are incredibly happy and bright. Her vocal style reminds me of Jekayln Carr and Mercy Chinwo a bit with rich highs and lows, but she is slightly softer. The only thing that pains me that the song is short. I sorta didn’t want it to end.

MESSAGE
I really love the line ‘What God cannot do does not exist’. It really reinstates the fact that as christians we should always push the bar because God is truly capable! There’s nothing too small or too big. There is no challenge that is insurmountible.
