#HellurrGuys, I present to you ‘Sogi’ by Okay Sokay
MUSICALITY
This B Major piece gives me Mercy Chinwo ‘Bor Ekom’ vibes, plus some Nathaniel Bassey vocal energy. It consists of igbo percussive instruments and digital organesque feels. The vocalist also consistently plays with infectious riffs at the end of the lines of the chorus, as well as panning effects. I love the distant feel of the back ups, their sometimes rhythms and blues-esque responses at the refrain and their choralesque halleluyahs. This is a short but really nice musical piece.

MESSAGE
The message of this song is simple. It thanks God for various things that he alone can and has done.
Sogi means ‘Only you’, and the igbo chorus thus translates as ‘Only you are my life giver, you alone are my healer, you alone lead me, you alone are my saviour.’ None of these things could ever be taken for granted or ascribed to someone else. They should also never get old in our hearts. Everything God does for us is special❤
